Twelve dub records, in order
A route through dub itself rather than through reggae: twelve albums in sequence, from the first tentative experiments to the point where the method left Jamaica altogether.
Dub Syndicate
Group
- London
- 1982 onwards
The house band of the On-U Sound label, built around the drummer Style Scott, who had come out of the Roots Radics and brought that band’s heaviness with him.
Where African Head Charge is a collage, Dub Syndicate is a group playing: real drums, real bass, then processed hard by Adrian Sherwood until the room they are in stops being a real room. Tunes from the Missing Channel is the one to start with.
Style Scott was murdered in Jamaica in 2014.
